Kaylie Hardeman is a freelance percussionist and music educator currently residing in Austin, TX. Kaylie has been playing drums since the age of 10 and started her formal musical training in high school, when she made the decision to make music and drumming a future career. Since then, she has earned degrees in Percussion Performance from the University of North Texas, and Texas A&M University- Commerce, studying multiple areas of percussion.
Kaylie has 10 years of teaching experience, working with young musicians across Texas. Before moving to Austin, Kaylie was a percussion instructor and private lesson teacher for multiple school districts in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.
When she is not teaching, she is performing wherever music and opportunities take her. She has traveled to multiple countries in Europe, as well as India and Japan performing in a wide variety of concerts and stage productions. Kaylie most recently toured Japan as a percussionist for Kyodo Tokyo Inc. and their new on-stage production of Toei Animation’s “One Piece Oto Utage.” In 2017, Kaylie was a snare soloist and percussion chorus member for “Blast! The Music of Disney,” and in 2012 was a percussionist for the A.R. Rahman live concert, “Thai Manne Vanakkam.”
Kaylie is a lifelong student of music and strives to make a positive impact on anyone she can through the artform of percussion!
